What's up with Social Security?

Can we talk about this please? Where is my social security going if I'm not going to receive anything but 'death counseling' after I retire? Let me tell you where mine is going, and where yours going too! Of course, a good portion of the money is going to the people that WORKED their entire lives and EARNED it! However, a good chunk of it goes to the leeches. The lazy scum of the state. The people who travel here specifically looking for a free ride. The people who live off transitional assistance and 'transition' their whole lives. The ones who have kids in order to get a paycheck, free apartment, food, and social security benefits. I'm absolutely sick of it. I struggle every day trying to make ends meat while others are living off of me, sitting on their butts, drinking booze and using dope... losers.
And if you're one of those losers reading this? Get a job or get out of the states. You're absolutely, useless.. well, unless it's for fertilizer. You know who you are, 'abusers'.
So anyways, before I get off track. Are you kidding me?! Who enforces this? Has the government ever heard of the word 'proof'? How about a house call or a drug test?! Amend the law! People are abusing it and all the good, hard working people are suffering from it! The United States is going belly up and they're still not doing anything!
Let me tell you all a story real quick. There's this girl I know. She goes and gets into drugs one day. Ok? Got that? Anyways, drugs start screwing up her mind chemically because she can't kick the habit or support the habit, since she conveniently and coincidentally has no job. Shocker! So a 'friend' tells her that he is collecting social security because he had convinced a therapist he is bi-polar (by reading the symptoms online and faking). "What? What a great idea! Now I can support my habit AND sit at home and do nothing with my life! Sweet!"
End of story. And there goes my social security. Or? That social security money could belong to someone else who is really going to need it when they become paralyzed from getting hit by a drunk or doped driver that was drunk or doped off of that person's social security money!
Wake up people! You all suck unless you do something about it! Anonymously report them. Drug abuse, alcoholism, and laziness, are NOT disabilities. Even though some dumb nut decided they are. Ha ha ha, can someone please shoot this guy?
Uh oh! I just got angry! Is that considered a disability? Can I collect now?!

So your calling people who collect ssi but work and pay into it but happen to have a disabled they were not expecting to be born with such disabilities as scum too right!
Although there's admittedly a good deal of fraud impacting Social Security, it's minuscule compared to what is simply stolen by the korporate state to be handed out as korporate welfare and to finance war for profit.
If the Social Security administration were properly staffed and funded, fraud would be negligible. Like all administrative branches of the privatized government that deal with "entitlement programs", they are intentionally underfunded, understaffed and hindered in every way possible. This bolsters the myth that government is incapable of doing anything right. Therefore, everything, I say again, EVERYTHING, should be privatized so no possible opportunity for profit will by missed by the kapitalist elite.
What the hell, if trillions can be found (read printed) to bail out banks that are "too big to fail", then trillions more could be found/printed to take care of retirees like me.
Oh, shit! I forgot. That would be socialism. When you give welfare to banks and korporations, it's "kapitalism" and that's good. When you spend money to help the working people, it's "socialism" and that's bad.

I'm sorry. I keep forgetting. I'm old and senile. That constitution thing is just a piece of paper. It doesn't mean anything.
Your anger is justified up to a point but it should be focused more on the kapitalist/consumerist culture that is the real cause of people who play the system. The subculture of "users" and "losers are a product of a system in which ninety percent of the wealth is taken, not earned but taken, by less than five or ten percent of the population. That doesn't leave much to spread around amongst the rest of us.
If you think about it for a moment, many of the people defrauding the system aren't much different from the kapitalist elite. All the wealth they take is unearned. They do nothing beneficial for society. They certainly would never consider the possibility of actually working for a living.
The system, which distributes the nation's wealth constantly upward into ever fewer hands, is based entirely on fraud and deception.
The people you're so pissed at are a symptom of the disease, not the cause.
Hey Richard, I got your point although 'scum' is a bit of an inflammatory word to use, I knew which section of the population you were referring to.
I know of 'abusers' in USA, Canada, the UK and I suspect any developed country with social security in place where, as my father called them, "opportunists" are draining funds which should be used to take care of the honest, hard working folks who have paid into it all their adult lives and should be rewarded with a comfortable retirement. Unfortunately, today's moral values are shot worldwide and some families have several generations on government assistance. It is really unfair and getting worse.

You may have missed my point. But chances are, you're picking me apart. I doubt anyone would call someone scum that paid into the social security system for 40 or 45 years. My father, who is due to retire in a few years has also been paying all his life, double since he's always been self employed. I feel your pain, it ticks me off that he'll only see a few years of benefits because of the people who commit social security fraud. My apologies, I thought I was being clear about who I was talking about when I used the word 'scum'. I'll try to be mroe specific next time I vent.

My father worked and paid into the system for more than 45 years. He is just now retired and starting to receive benefits. Would he qualify as a lazy scum? I have an uncle that just started to qualify for benefits as well. Worked in the labor/construction industry since he was a teen... also more than 40 years.
While we would all like to point out the inequities in a system one can not place the blame on a single class of people. There will always be those the manipulate the system to there own means.
The blame should be placed on the Administrators not the "leeches". Those people lead miserable lives.
